How to Use Google Hangout

Registering is easy!

Join me. And your new friends.

Gatherings are for the camera-ready and camera shy.

Google Hangout allows for up to 10, live, video participants and an unlimited number of live, “view/listen-only” participants.

Each S.T.A.R. Book Discussion Circle will be Nina and 9 other intentional members from our community joining together to explore the S.T.A.R. philosophy deeply—we’ll also be connecting with many like-minded folks next door and/or across the oceans. You chose how you want to engage.

When you register, please consider a time and date that works for you and mark it on your calendar. There is no wait list, or “standing room only” opportunity, this is first come first served.

Thirty minutes before each circle, the “lines” will be opened, you will get an email notice with a link, so you can queue up to insure LIVE participation in your chosen S.T.A.R. Book Discussion Circle.

When you register, please consider a time and date that works for you and mark it on your calendar.

Thirty minutes before each gathering, I will send an email with a second link inside, directing you to where you can VIEW/ LISTEN in on your chosen S.T.A.R. Book Discussion Circle.

I designed the S.T.A.R. Book Discussion Circle schedule anticipating many needs. I trust something above will work well for you. If your first choice is fully booked upon log-in, know that there is always another gathering on the horizon or you can select the second link to VIEW/LISTEN in.

If none of the above times work for you, let me know. Send me an email with your request, I’ll see what we can do for you in the coming months.

To use Google Hangouts you will need:

  • A Google+ account (if you do not already have an account, please go here to setup an account)
  • A webcam
  • A microphone
  • Speakers or headphones

Next Steps:

  • Once you have setup your Google+ account, please install the plugin found here:
  • After you’ve installed the plugin, please visit the link sent to you in your emailed invitation

A seamless, effortless experience is my intention, but sometimes technology challenges us.

Google Hangout is a wonderful choice for our intimate gatherings, and a relatively young platform. Past calls have revealed hiccups, such as:

  • Participants loosing their place in line
  • Abrupt disconnection
  • Loss of audio

With each, as a community, we’ve approached the unexpected with humor. Logging back in is always a good place to begin trouble shooting. Our community has also expressed a generous (S.T.A.R.) attitude towards the technological bumps. For which, I am very grateful.

Post-S.T.A.R. Book Discussion Circle, receiving feedback about your technology experience would be appreciated. Your unique perspective will allow me to serve and share in the very best way, on future circles. Let me know how it went for you, flawlessly or flawed:

With Appreciation and Gratitude,

Yes! I want to join a S.T.A.R. Circle video gathering.
